Billed as "the world's largest celebration of jazz as a force for peace, intercultural dialogue, and international cooperation," International Jazz Day (IDJ) brings together people from nearly 200 countries on all seven continents through a series of performances, educational programs, and community outreach initiatives.
Among the highlights of IJD is the All-Star Global Concert, which takes place in UN General Assembly Hall in New York and features Herbie Hancock as host/artistic director and John Beasley as musical director.
