Loving Hands Community Care Hosts 15th Annual Mother's Day Healing Luncheon: May 7

On Saturday, May 7, the day before Mother's Day, Loving Hands hosts its annual Mother's Day Luncheon for bereaved mothers. Every year since its founding, Kathryn Wooten and the Loving Hands community provide a communal space for mothers to grieve, heal, and support one another during a challenging holiday weekend.

After the death of her two eldest sons in January and March of 2008, Kathryn Wooten founded Loving Hands Community Care. Kathy, a life-long resident of Watts, California, is committed to facilitating healing for women who have experienced the unthinkable: the loss of a child. This year, the Luncheon will focus on the importance of self-care after experiencing such unimaginable and heartbreaking grief. The Luncheon includes a range of programming, including inspirational speakers, encouraging conversations, artistic performances, and a space for mothers to connect. Through this Luncheon, Kathy has created a sacred space that reminds mothers that they are never alone. To learn more about this year's Mother's Day Luncheon, click here.
