This year the Daniel Pearl Lecture series, an important part of the Burkle Center's distinguished programming, will feature former world chess champion and democratic activist Garry Kasparov. Through this lecture series, which has previously featured some of the most prominent journalist, scholars, and policymakers in the world today, the exceptionally gifted journalist, musician, and humanitarian Daniel Pearl is remembered as a symbol of hope who lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the lives of the thousands of people who were inspired and touched by his story. GRoW @ Annenberg is honored to support the lecture and the memory of Daniel Pearl.
The Burkle Center fosters research and promotes discussion of international relations, U.S. foreign policy, and complex issues of global cooperation and conflict. They bring the brightest minds in these fields to UCLA and encourage faculty and students to explore and shape debate. The Daniel Pearl Memorial Lecture is co-sponsored by the Daniel Pearl Foundation and Hillel at UCLA.
