Empowering Women to Heal the World

Odyssey Conservation Trust

The origins of the Odyssey Conservation Trust date back to the late 1990s, when the founders worked with the Shangaan people of Zimbabwe to create the largest rhino sanctuary in Africa to protect the endangered black rhinoceros. Today, the organization's mission has expanded to empower women across the globe to protect their biocultural heritage by developing community-based projects that promote the role of women in innovative environmental conservation as well as the revitalization of the ecosystems in which they live. Through its work in six of the most biodiverse regions in the world, the Odyssey Conservation Trust has perfected the balance of preserving rich cultural traditions of the past and building a bright, flourishing future relationship between nature and humankind.
