Evenings with an Author at the American Library in Paris Offers Varied, Vibrant Discussions All Fall

The GRoW-sponsored series at Europe's largest English-language lending library features poets, novelists, professors, and journalists in conversation.

If you happen to find yourself in Paris — or anywhere with an internet connection — there's one place that you can enjoy lively discussions on subjects including the protection of journalism, the decoding of culture, the attention economy, the Chinese diaspora, and French wine: The American Library in Paris (ALP).

ALP's Evenings with an Author series launched its fall season in September, and the conversation(s) will continue into December. Among the guests are: poets John Ashbery, Marilyn Hacker, and Kwame Alexander; authors Fiona Sze-Lorrain, Edward Chisholm, and Lauren Oyler; journalists Roger Cohen, Simon Kuper, and Madeleine Schwartz; professors Laurence Cossu Beaumont, Justin Smith, and D. Graham Burnett; and actor/author BJ Novak.

Evenings with an Author events are held in-person but also can be watched live on Zoom. GRoW has been honored for two decades to sponsor this intriguing series, which began in 1990. The full calendar can be viewed here
