Youth Program Internships in Santa Monica Mountains Culminates with Graduation Ceremony

Internships in Santa Monica Mountains Introduce Students to Nature, Careers in Conservation

On August 15, the Santa Monica Mountains (SAMO) Fund and National Park Foundation graduate a group of high school students who have dedicated their summers to working outdoors.

The SAMO Youth Program offers Los Angeles and Oxnard high school students a full-time, paid internship for two consecutive summers. Through the program, students learn about the operations of the National Park Service and future careers in the fields of conservation and preservation. Program participants have found employment at many national parks across the country.
